The Institute of Experimental Medicine of the CAS is looking for a 

Postdoctoral Researcher 
Department of Cellular Neurophysiology

JOB DESCRIPTION  

• participation in research into the role of glial cells (especially astrocytes and NG2 glia) in the pathophysiology of the central nervous system
• work with laboratory animals (crossbreeding, surgeries, behavioral testing)
• modern microscopic techniques (fluorescence microscopy, Ca ²⁺ imaging)
• electrophysiology (patch-clamp method in vitro or in acute tissue slices)
• methods of cell biology (immunocyto/histochemistry, preparation of cell cultures, preparation of single-cell suspension for FACS, RT-qPCR, RNAseq)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION

• PhD degree in biology, medicine or chemistry
• enthusiasm for research work
• independence, reliability, flexibility, willingness to implement and optimize new techniques
• active knowledge of English
• experience with publishing activity
• PC skills
• experience with above-mentioned methods is an advantage
• certificate confirming qualification and professional competence (designing experiments and experimental projects) in the field of experimental animal use according to § 15e paragraph 2a) of Act No. 246/1992 on the Protection of Animals against Cruelty is an advantage
