We would like to invite you to a workshop on the Perspectives of Energy Development in the Czech Republic.

From 1 pm to 4 pm in Hall 206, 2nd floor, building of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Národní 3, Prague 1.

The seminar is organized by the Environment Commission together with the Energy Commission of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic.

The Czech power industry faces two break-through periods. In 2022, about 40% of coal power plants will be closed, which are still exporting electricity and not meeting the EU's new environmental limits. In the same year, other nuclear and some coal-fired power plants will be closed in Germany, particularly in neighboring Bavaria. In 2035, the Dukovany power plant will have been extended for 10 years, and we have to think ahead about how we will be consuming at that time and where we will take new resources from, especially if we are to develop our industry and electromobility. The situation of the mid-1920s leads us first and foremost to the development of intelligent networks and their regulatory capabilities, and in 2035 we should already have a significant part of the energy industry upgraded to the technological standard of the 21st century. Similarly to neighboring Germany, some parts of the energy industry will probably remain fossil for a while, but they must be consistently ecologized.
