The Czech Academy of Sciences, in cooperation with the Institute of Experimental Medicine CAS, has issued a new expert opinion (so-called AVex), which deals with the topic "Damaged health of the population in the Ústí nad Labem Region".
Even after thirty years, the health status of the population of these districts differs significantly from the average in the Czech Republic:
It is important to realize that this is a significantly damaged population. Long-term damage is most likely passed on through genetic information to future generations. It is necessary to analyze which changes in health status were identified 30 years ago and to propose measures that should improve the current situation.
As everywhere, the constitutional principle of the right to healthy living conditions of the population also applies here.
The aim is to achieve the same statistics as the average in the Czech Republic (life expectancy, health and morbidity of the population, improvement of social conditions), which will be clear evidence of improved living conditions in this area.
The same applies to other industrial areas in the Czech Republic, especially the Ostrava, Karviná and Sokolov Regions.
