Living cell in focus: Real-time Energy Metabolism & 3D Cell Imaging
We would like to invite you to the seminar of MICHAELA PLUSKALOVÁ, PH.D.
entitled LIVING CELL IN FOCUS: REAL-TIME ENERGY METABOLISM & 3D CELL IMAGING
The seminar will take place on Thursday, October 24, 2019, from 2 p.m. in the Turquoise Lounge of the Institute of Experimental Medicine of the Czech Academy of Sciences. |
Abstract:
The role of metabolism in cellular and physiological processes is well established. Many diseases are now linked to metabolic dysfunction or reprogramming as cells adapt to their changing energy demands. This metabolic plasticity provides a new opportunity to identify metabolic targets useful for new therapeutic approaches. We would like to introduce you in Seahorse XF technology, which enables to easily obtain functional metabolic data. Seahorse XF can measure simultaneously two major energy pathways – mitochondrial respiration and glycolysis in live cells without labeling in easy way.
Innovative technology for long-term live cell imaging represents Nanolive imaging, combining holography with tomography. This non-invasive and quantitative imaging technique permits new intriguing applications in the cell death/cell cycle analysis, intracellular infection, intracellular nanoparticles localization, immuno-oncology and cell metabolism research.
In the case of interest, there is possible to try both technologies directly in your lab.
