On June 2 and 3, 2022, the Department of Auditory Neuroscience organised their traditional international course on research methods used in auditory neuroscience. The course was, for the 10th year (except for the last two years due to covid), organised for American students from the University of Connecticut at Farmington as part of a month-long summer school programme on Auditory Neurobiology organised by the University of Salamanca in Spain.
The IEM CAS offers a wide range of methodological facilities for training. Students are introduced to various morphological, electrophysiological and behavioural methods used in hearing research. This year, fourteen American students were joined by six PhD students from European universities, whose participation in the Salamanca summer school was funded by the Network of European Neuroscience Schools (NENS), an organisation created within the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies. The students finished their stay in Prague with a weekend tour of the capital city.
