The world needs science and science needs women
Why? "Because men predominate in all professions of research, and their representation has a growing tendency. The representation of women among researchers has been declining for a long time. In an international comparison, the level of women's representation among researchers in the Czech Republic is among the lowest overall of all EU countries.” Unnecessarily, we lose talented scientists and their potential, which would move us further as a society.
L'Oréal, in cooperation with the Czech Academy of Sciences and the Czech Commission for UNESCO, is trying to change this unfavourable trend!
In 2006, the Czech Republic joined the international project L'Oréal For Women In Science, which was established in 1998 based on cooperation between UNESCO and L'Oréal with the aim of supporting women in science and research and appreciating their scientific efforts.
Veronika Vymetálková, PhD is among the 13 finalists of this year's Czech edition of the international project L'Oréal For Women In Science. The fact that she advanced to the finale we consider to be a huge success, and we thank her for the great work she does for our institute. Of course, we would like to thank all the female scientists in our institute. We are proud and happy that you are part of our team!
We keep our fingers crossed for you, Veronika:)
