Mgr. Kateřina Štěpánková  is a talented young neuroscientist, working on spinal cord and brain regeneration research. Furthermore, she is a very active and successful science popularizer. Her project “The History of Spinal Cord Research: From Untreatable Conditions to the First Patients Taking Their Own Steps Again” is focused on popularizing regenerative medicine, especially concerning the spinal cord. 

The field of neuroscience is challenging for the general public to understand, so Katka decided to try and explain it in the form of a comic book combined with photographs and accompanying text. 

In June 2022, she will also present her project at the international conference FENS Forum in Paris. As the project is still ongoing, we cannot show you the final comic yet. Here at least is a small sample...
