We would like to invite you to an online lecture by Pavel Rössner, PhD, from the Department of Nanotoxicology and Molecular Epidemiology IEM CAS.
Nanomaterials are widely used in many industries, medicine, food, and common consumer goods. Although the human body is in regular contact with nanoparticles (NPs) of various natures, their effects on human health are not systematically assessed. With regard to specific physicochemical properties, NPs have the potential to cause damage to biological material, and thus increase the risk of many diseases. The aim of the lecture is to acquaint students with the mechanisms of the negative biological effects of NP and to approach the methods that are used to analyze these impacts. The lecture will be supplemented by specific results, which were obtained within the solved projects in the Institute of Experimental Medicine of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
