Professor Eva Syková, doctor, scientist and politician, director of the Institute of Experimental Medicine of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic from 2001 to June 2016, holder of numerous prizes and honors (Honorary Medal of JE Purkyně, 2003, Manager of 2011) and elected member of Academia Europaea and the Learned Society of the Czech Republic. She deals with biomedicine - in the field of neuroscience. Her specialization is brain research, and she has been extensively engaged in stem cell research over the last decade. She is the author of more than 600 publications, 7656 citations and her h-index is 48, developing and supporting the emerging field of science - regenerative medicine. She is one of the most important Czech scientists, devoted to science politics and the popularization of science.
