This is the highest award given by the Czech Immunological Society to Czech and foreign immunologists, as an expression of gratitude for their contribution to immunology. The award, which is a jewel stylized in the shape of IgG with real Czech garnets, was first awarded in 2006.

 

Prof. RNDr. Vladimír Holáň, DrSc.  has been researching stem cells and their use in the treatment of degenerative corneal diseases for a long time. Until 2019 he was the head of the Department of Transplantation Immunology IEM CAS and since 2020 he has been working at the Dept. of Nanotoxicology and Molecular Epidemiology.
