Are you interested in research in the field of biomedicine? Would you like to research a stroke?
If so, we have a great opportunity for you. At the Department of Cellular Neurophysiology, Institute of Experimental Medicine CAS, we are looking for a bachelor's student to join our team and participate with us in a long-term research project.
The project concerns the effect of Wnt signalling on the differentiation potential of glial cells after brain tissue damage. We work on cell cultures and brain sections, and use methods such as patch-clamp, immunohistochemistry, RNA sequencing, calcium imaging and FACS. We work with transgenic laboratory animals, so this is something that should not be a problem for you. We are cooperating with the Institute of Molecular Genetics CAS on the project, so you will get to know other departments of the Czech Academy of Sciences and meet new colleagues.
This could be the topic of your bachelor's thesis, and we will be happy to help you. In addition, you can look forward to a young friendly team, a pleasant atmosphere and extracurricular activities such as disc golf or bowling!
If you are interested, please send us your CV with a short motivation letter to email: tomas.knotek@iem.cas.cz or jan.kriska@iem.cas.cz. The deadline for applications is 14. 3. 2021!
